Coach Mike 2020
Digital Learning Expectations:
My Classes Start Back on Monday 3/23/2029

While we will not be sharing a physical classroom, we will be sharing a digital one.

  • Be RESPONSIBLE: You will be expected to spend a minimum of one hour a day working on assignments from my class. Please plan ahead accordingly.

  • Be RESPECTFUL: You still will be interacting with peers via Canvas, Teams, and ZOOM regularly. Here, your discussions should remain ON TOPIC and remain APPROPRIATE AND PROFESSIONAL.

  • I have added a forum to our website as well as a link to our facebook messenger for you to ask questions and interact when you need help. the webpage is

Academic Dishonesty (Plagiarism):

Academic dishonesty (plagiarism) covers a wide range of offenses including cheating (looking up answers on the internet) and taking credit for work you have not done personally. Copying and pasting is almost always considered plagiarism, and can have serious consequences. A first incident (even if unintentional) of cheating or plagiarism may result in any or all of the following:

  • A warning to student and parent, and a “0” for the paper, test, assignment, or project in question

  • Mandatory retake/redo of assignment for less than full credit

  • Lower citizenship grade

Any subsequent incident will be referred to administration for more serious consequences.

 Late Work:

As a rule, I will be grading work in the early hours of the morning. Because of this, unless otherwise noted, all assignments are due by 11:59 PM on the due date. If an assignment is late without a viable reason (parents/guardians must contact me via email at BEFORE the due date with a VALID REASON for me to extend a deadline), I will deduct 25% from the total points earned by the student. If the assignment is turned in more than a week late, you will receive no credit from the assignment.

To streamline the grading process, and to make it easier for students to keep track of their grades, I will be using a strictly point based (not weighted) scoring system.

Office Hours:

On weekdays, I will be available for immediate questions and concerns between the hours of 11 AM and 2 PM via Canvas as well as our webpage links (though I will be regularly checking emails throughout the day).

TO THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS -- Contact information and a special note

I believe that a student’s full potential can only be reached when the teacher, student, and parent all cooperate and work together, especially in the current conditions. For this reason, I strongly suggest you remain in close contact with me. You may email me at, but I also suggest you join your student’s Canvas Classroom. This is the best way to keep up with the work your student is expected to do.
